Accessibility Statement

Our aim is to make this site usable by everyone. This page lists the features that help, the limits we know about, and how to report a problem.

Last updated

We want everyone to be able to use Guided Fixes, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or larger text. Our aim is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Our aim and where we are

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are an international standard for accessible web content. They are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). You can read WCAG 2.2 on the W3C website. Level AA is a widely used target.

Meeting level AA is our aim, not a certificate. The site has not yet had an independent accessibility audit, so we cannot say that it fully meets WCAG 2.2 level AA.

Features that help

These features are built into the site. Because we have not had them independently tested, they may not work perfectly everywhere.

  • Text size. You can enlarge text up to 200% with your browser's zoom.
  • Dark mode. The site follows your device's light or dark setting.
  • Keyboard use. Menus and the rating box can be used with a keyboard alone, and the item you are on is clearly marked.
  • Skip link. A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content.
  • Clear structure. Each page has one main heading, headings in order, and labeled page regions that screen readers can jump between.
  • Text versions of diagrams. Every diagram has a title and a text version that you can open and read instead.
  • Print view. Guides print cleanly, including the text version of each diagram.
  • Contrast and color. The design aims for strong contrast and avoids showing meaning by color alone.
  • Touch and motion. Buttons and links have large tap targets, and the site respects the reduced-motion setting on your device.
  • Works without scripts. The guides, navigation and contact form work without JavaScript.

Known limits

  • No independent audit yet. We have not had the site checked by an outside accessibility specialist.
  • Some extras need JavaScript. Star ratings, search and copy buttons need JavaScript turned on.
  • Complex diagrams. Diagrams can be harder to follow than plain text. Each one has a text version for this reason.
  • Content from Google. When the Google reviews section is switched on, it shows names, photos and text exactly as Google returns them. We do not control their accessibility or language.
  • Other websites. We link to other sites, mostly official support pages, and we cannot control how accessible they are.
  • Language. The site is in English only.

Tell us about a problem

If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different form, please tell us. Use the contact page and choose Accessibility feedback, or contact us using contact@guidedfixes.com.

Please tell us:

  • the guide title or page address
  • what you were trying to do and what happened
  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you use, such as a screen reader or magnifier
  • how we can reach you, if you would like a reply

What to expect

We aim to read every accessibility report. If you give us a way to reply, we aim to answer within 14 days and tell you what we found. We will try to fix problems we can reproduce. If you need a guide in a different form, such as plain text, tell us and we will try to provide it. We cannot promise a fix by a particular date.
