Use the form to reach us. This page explains what to include, what we can help with and what happens to your message.
What to include
Choose the topic that matches your message, and please include:
- the title or web address of the guide you are writing about
- your device and its version, for example Windows 11, a Chromebook or an iPhone
- what you were trying to do, what you expected and what happened instead
- any message on the screen, copied exactly
- what you have already tried
Your message needs 20 to 4,000 characters. For a privacy request, say what you want (access, correction, deletion or objection) and what it relates to. The Privacy Policy explains what to expect.
What we can help with
- Corrections. Tell us about a mistake in a guide.
- Questions about a guide. Ask if a step is unclear or does not match what you see.
- New guide requests. Tell us what you are trying to do.
- Accessibility. Tell us about a barrier, or ask for information in a different form.
- Privacy requests. Ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how it is used.
What we cannot do
- We do not repair devices, run remote sessions or give phone support.
- We cannot diagnose a device from a message, because we cannot see your device.
- We cannot help with accounts or passwords at other companies. Use that company's official recovery page.
Never share passwords or payment details
Please do not put passwords, payment card numbers, bank details or ID numbers in your message. We will never ask for them.
Has someone taken control of your computer, or have you paid or given passwords to someone who contacted you? Read You gave someone remote access: what to do now first.
What happens to your message
- The form sends your name, email address, topic and message to us as one email. The message is not stored on the site, and the contact tool does not record which page you sent it from. The email contains your name and email address, so it holds personal information.
- We aim to read every message. We reply to privacy requests and accessibility reports. We may not be able to reply to every other message. The Privacy Policy and the Accessibility Statement say how quickly we aim to reply to those two.
- We reply to the email address you enter. Check it for mistakes, and look in your spam folder.
- We use your name and email address only to read and answer your message. The form asks you to confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy.
